The Situation

Thalia Lyn O.D, J.P., L.L.D  – yes Theee Island Grill Thalia Lynn, was being inducted into the PSOJ Hall of Fame. Her family wanted to put together a tribute to her featuring encouraging messages from various distinguished colleagues, diplomats, friends and family as well as highlight her journey and life story.

The Solution

We worked with what we had and tried to shoot as much as we could given the time constraints and busy schedules of very important people! I compiled a plethora of photos from her past, footage from the Island Grill archives, video interviews and several voicenotes from persons who were unable to shoot.  I used the info I had about her life story to craft a script that would become the narration for what I have to call a mini-documentary. This was one of my earlier projects. Looking back at it I definitely see things I would adjust but all in all it was very well received. The first time my boss watched it she said she shed a tear, and while I didn’t attend the PSOJ reception one of our clients saw the tribute and requested that we create one for their CEO. I take that to mean that it was impactful and moved people in the way the client had intended, which wasn’t too hard because Thalia Lyn has an amazing life story.
